Introduction
Orenda Grids is a suite of components that offers to improve your data visibility experience in Salesforce views. Especially, when dealing with the Salesforce Lightning components such as Grid views and List views. Extended Related List (XRL) component in Orenda Grids upgrades the Standard Grid views/ List view experience by offering flexible, user-configurable adaptable to Users' requirements based on their role and activities. This allows them to save time, increase efficiency and obtain hidden insights from the Salesforce data.
This component works with Salesforce standard and custom objects. Any user can edit and alter the Related List view on a page through easy configuration interface, once it has been configured by Salesforce admin to the Lightning web pages.
Built on 100% Native SF LWC, Orenda Grids provides no code/low code solution for Salesforce users to create Custom Grid views with flexible, scalable views, unlimited columns, smart, extensive and real time filters, custom actions and more.
Issues in Salesforce Data Views
Let us go through some of the common challenges faced by Salesforce users with respect to data visibility and navigation:
- Limited User Configurability: Unlike custom list views, users cannot personalize data views (including Grid views) to their specific needs. Only Salesforce admins can define the fields, sort order, and filters displayed. This can limit user efficiency and data insights.
- Single, Static View per Object: Admins can only define one default view. Whether it is for related list, or other views, it applies to all users across the org. This inflexibility makes it difficult for users with different workflows to personalize their data experience.
- Restricted Column Display: Data views are capped at displaying a maximum number of columns which is inflexible. For instance, Grid views can display a max of 10 columns. This can be insufficient for scenarios requiring a comprehensive view of detailed data.
- Limited Record Display and Navigation: Grid views can display a maximum of 2,000 records at a time. Additionally, users cannot control which specific records are displayed beyond basic filtering options. This can be cumbersome for navigating large datasets.
- Inflexible Filtering and Search: Filters in data views are restricted to the pre-defined columns by the admin. Furthermore, these filters are not persistent and need to be reapplied every time a user accesses the view.
- Limited Export Functionality: Data views lack a built-in way to directly export data for offline analysis. Users need to rely on reports, which require separate configuration and can be time-consuming.
